NCPD: Man Arrested for Intentionally Striking Code Enforcement Agent with Vehicle Following Dispute

The Fourth Squad reports the Arrest of an Island Park man for an Assault that occurred on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 3:19 PM in Island Park.
 
According to Detectives, officers responded to 127 Long Beach Road for an assault on a Village of Island Park Code Enforcement Agent. Upon police arrival, it was determined that the Defendant Matthew Sullivan, 37, of 77 Waterford Road was involved in an argument with a Code Enforcement Agent over a summons. 
 
The argument escalated and the defendant got into his vehicle and intentionally struck the 25-year-old male agent with his vehicle. The defendant was placed under arrest without incident. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment of his injuries. 
 
Defendant Matthew Sullivan is charged with Assault 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, March 7, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
