NCPD: Oceanside Man Arrested for Intentionally Ramming Two Officers with Stolen BMW During Traffic Stop

Vincent Fredricks, 21, is charged with multiple counts both related to the assaults as well as 23 additional cases that occurred from 1/29/2024 through 3/4/2024.

Third Squad Detectives report the arrest of an Oceanside man for an assault that occurred on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 6:07 pm in Westbury.
 
According to detectives, officers observed a black BMW traveling westbound on W. John Street.  It was being operated by a male and a female was seated in the front passenger seat.  The vehicle was reported stolen and was used in multiple crimes throughout Nassau County.  Officers observed the BMW park at 1636 Old Country Road and approached the vehicle.  The male operator refused to comply with officers’ verbal commands, accelerated forward and struck two officers.  Fredricks fled eastbound on Old Country Road.
Both officers were transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
 
A thorough investigation was conducted and Vincent Fredricks, 21, of 3220 Neptune Avenue and Pia Califano, 20, of 3936 Miller Place, Levittown, were arrested without incident.
 
Detectives were able to close out 23 additional cases connected to Fredricks that occurred from 1/29/2024 through 3/4/2024.
Pia Califano was responsible for a Petit Larceny that occurred on 3/1/2024.  She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to First District Court, Hempstead on 3/18/2024.
 
Defendant Fredricks is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Grand Larceny, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, three (3) counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, sixteen (16) counts of Petit Larceny and Attempted Petit Larceny.  He will be arraigned on Friday, March 8, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
