NCPD: Suspects Steal Debit Card from 72-Year-Old Victim, Rack Up Fraudulent Charges

The Third Squad reports the details of a Grand Larceny that occurred on Thursday, March 09, 2023 at 10:37 am in Westbury.
 
According to detectives, a 72-year-old female victim was in the vestibule of Chase Bank, located at 201 Post Avenue. As she was exiting the bank, she noticed two males and one female in the vestibule. One of the males told the victim she had dropped a twenty-dollar bill on the ground. 
 
The victim stated she hadn’t dropped any money, one of the males picked up a twenty-dollar bill from the ground and placed it into the victims back right pocket. Shortly after exiting the bank the victim realized her debit card was missing from her back right pocket. 
 
The victim returned to the bank and was notified by bank employees that there had been several recent charges using the victim’s debit card. The three subjects had fled the scene in an unknown direction prior to the victim returning to the bank.
 
Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
