Rep. Nick LaLota (NY-01) announced that his office helped recover over $2.5 million owed by the IRS to the East End not-for-profit, San Simeon by the Sound Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Without these much-needed funds, the facilities would have had to shutter.

“I am proud to have recovered over $2.5 million which was owed to San Simeon, a critical source for healthcare on Long Island’s East End as well as one of the region’s largest job providers, employing roughly 125 staff, most of whom reside on the East End,” said LaLota. “Facilities that work to improve the quality of life for our seniors and recovering patients should not be made to jump through hoops and wait years to receive the tax refunds they are rightfully owed under the Tax Code. My team and I are committed to helping all Long Islanders get the federal resources they deserve. I encourage anyone looking for assistance to contact my office as soon as possible.”

“We are very grateful to have partnered with Rep. LaLota to help bring the collection of this tax refund to a successful conclusion. The Congressman’s staff, as well as his predecessor’s, have been in constant contact with our CFO in this regard since August 2022. Their aim was always to do what is in the best interest of the greater East End community,” said Leueen Miller, Board Chair, San Simeon by the Sound Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
