Jamesport Meeting House will host a special performance by the Women in Jazz All-Star Band on Friday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m., presented by East End Jazz in celebration of Women’s History Month. This incredible concert will showcase the talent and artistry of female musicians who have made significant contributions to the world of Jazz. The concert program will feature the music of iconic female jazz figures such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Mary Lou Williams, Carla Bley, Alice Coltrane, Dorothea Fields, Irene Higginbotham, and many more.

The Women in Jazz All-Star Band features a stellar line-up of musicians that includes vocalist Olivia Foschi, bandleader and singer Vanessa Trouble, renowned saxophonist Ada Rovatti, rising star Kal Ferretti on trumpet, pianist and composer Eugenia Choe, bassist and composer Iris Ornig, and esteemed jazz drummer Gary Kerkezou.  

Tickets are only $20 and may be purchased in advance through the events page of the Jamesport Meeting House website at: www.jamesportmeetinghouse.org. Advance purchase is recommended. The Jamesport Meeting House, erected in 1731,is the oldest public structure on the East End of Long Island. The Meeting House is prized for its superb acoustics as well as its historical significance.
