AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Silver Alert Issued for East Islip Man Suffering from Cerebral Palsy & Mental Illness

The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing East Islip man who has cerebral palsy and mental illness.

Bay Shore, NY - March 10, 2015 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing East Islip man who has cerebral palsy and mental illness.
 
Christopher Iannacone, 29, was last seen at Southside Hospital. He lives at 280 Bellmore Ave., in East Islip.
 
He is described as a white male, 5''9", 180 pounds, with blue eyes and light brown short hair with a beard  He was last seen wearing  gray pants, black Velcro sneakers and a gray shirt. He walks with two arm crutches.
 
Anyone with information about his location is requested to contact Third Squad detectives at 631-854-8352.
 
As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
