NCPD: Roosevelt Man Busted in Possession of Illegal Firearm During Traffic Stop

The First Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt Man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 1:03 am in Roosevelt.  
 
According to Detectives, First Precinct Officers observed a 2016 Dodge Charger, traveling southbound on Babylon Turnpike at a high rate of speed. Officers activated their emergency lights and a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop was conducted near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and St. Francis Street. After a thorough investigation a loaded Taurus 40 Caliber handgun was recovered from inside the vehicle. The subject was placed under arrest without incident.
 
Defendant Victor Lemanya, 19, of 67 Jefferson Avenue, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law Infractions. He will be all be arraigned on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
