Nassau Legislator Joshua Lafazan Honors Diane Fagiola At 20th Annual Women’s History Awards Ceremony
Mineola, NY - March 15, 2018 - Legislator Joshua Lafazan honors Diane Fagiola, the Senior Director of Philanthropy at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, at the Nassau County Legislature’s 20th Annual Women’s History Trailblazer Award Ceremony. Diane Fagiola is a key member of the development team that raised $275 million for the Laboratory’s five-year 125th Anniversary Capital Campaign completed in 2016.
“It is my honor and pleasure to recognize and acknowledge Diane as a trailblazer for women's history month. You are truly inspiring and an inspiration to those around you,” said legislator Lafazan.
Diane has always been active in her community, she has served for decades on the board of the Matinecock Neighborhood Association, as well as a Meals on Wheels volunteer, Sunday schoolteacher, and club board member. She is currently president of the Locust Valley Cemetery Association. She and her husband Robert Fagiola, who is the Mayor of Lattingtown, grew up in Lattingtown where they continue to live.
Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to their communities, culture, and society. All nineteen legislators had the opportunity to honor and recognize “ordinary women who do extraordinary things.” Each honoree was presented with a citation from their legislator and flowers.
