Weekend Weather Update: Showers, Sun, Snow?
Wondering what the weather is going to look like this weekend? LongIsland.com's Weekend Weather Update has the need-to-know forecast details for Long Island - unlike some other weather updates, LI is our ONLY focus!
Friday
This weekend's weather begins with a slight dip in temperatures. After a couple of days reaching over 60° and a sunny St. Patrick's Day, Friday is only expected to reach the low 50s. To make matters a even less pleasant there is about a 30% chance of rain in the forecast, predominately between the late morning and afternoon, but don't expect the rainy weather to overstay its welcome!
Saturday
The skies will clear up on Saturday, but all that extra sunshine won't be warming the Island up. Forecasts actually predict another 10° dip as highs for the day are only expected to reach about 43°.
Sunday
Sunday is the first day of spring, but believe it or not LI could be in store for some very wintry weather. Highs may not reach any warmer than 38° and lows could be as cold as 30°. There's a 40% chance of precipitation during the day and a 60% Sunday night, which means early rains could turn into snow as the day progresses.
This Coming Week
Temperatures are currently expected to grow progressively warmer as the week progresses, but there is presently a 30% chance of snow before noon on Monday.
