Written by Lon Cohen  |  21. March 2021

Roots Juice Bar & Cafe opened this January in Huntington offering a menu of healthy meals, smoothies, and their own bottled juices.

Back in September before the planned opening, Huntington Now reported on the cafe and owner Seth Sloan’s idea for his healthy immune boosting menu with a mostly vegetarian offering.

“Everybody’s a lot more health conscious,” the news site reported Sloan as saying. “I’m not personally a vegetarian, but I’ve leaned toward that because I feel better.”

The menu is filled with healthy choices like Avo toast with bee pollen, seasonal sprouts, roots oil, roots seasoning, and sunflower seeds ($8), or their Truffle Mushroom toast with wild mushrooms, parmesan, garlic aioli, and white truffle oil ($8). They also have sandwiches on the menu like Hummus Avocado Club with pickled onions, baby greens, heirloom tomatoes, roots seasoning and roots oils ($10).They also offer acai bowls and juice cleanses.

On Yelp, Thomas J, from Cold Spring Harbor, gave it a five star review.

“Hummus avocado club on sourdough was fantastic,” he said. “My son enjoyed the grilled cheese (made without the onions and tomatoes!). Friendly service and a clean, welcoming space. Will be back.”
