AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. The First Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 1:10 a.m. in Rockville Centre.

Rockville Center, NY - March 20, 2015 - The First Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 1:10 a.m. in Rockville Centre.
 
According to detectives, Rockville Centre Police were called to Croxley’s Ale House located at 7 S. Park Avenue for a disturbance. Upon arrival they were informed the defendant Andrew J. Howard, 20, of Dunkirk Drive was asked to leave the bar and made gestures with his hands to the bartender that he may have a gun. When the officers located the defendant he was driving 2006 Infinity in the wrong direction of the rear parking lot. Howard fled the vehicle on foot leaving a loaded .38 caliber revolver on the front passenger seat. He was located and placed under arrest a short distance away. No injuries were reported.
 
Howard is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, March 20, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
