Alba Alonso of Bay Shore was allegedly driving while intoxicated with her two children when she crashed in Brentwood, Cops say.

Suffolk County Police have arrested Alba Alonso of Bay Shore for DWI with two children in the vehicle after she was involved in a motor vehicle crash in Brentwood.

Brentwood , NY - March 20, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a Bay Shore woman for driving while intoxicated with two children in the vehicle after she was involved in a motor vehicle crash in Brentwood on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at approximately 6:05 p.m.
 
Alba Alonso was driving a 2000 Toyota 4Runner east on Candlewood Road when she apparently lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb causing the vehicle to overturn at approximately 6:05 p.m.
    
Alfonso and the two children, ages 3 and 1, were transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for minor injuries.
 
Third Squad detectives arrested and charged Alonso, 26, of Bay Shore, with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger 15 Years or Younger (Leandra’s Law), Driving While Intoxicated and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Alonso will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 20.
 
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.  The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on this motor vehicle crash is asked to contact detectives in the Third Squad at 631- 854-8352
