- St. John’s is currently ranked #5 in both the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll after winning the Big East title for the first time since 1985 and the Big East Conference Tournament. St. John’s captured the outright Big East Conference regular season championship with a 71-61 victory over Seton Hall on Saturday, March 1st at Madison Square Garden when Coach Pitino sported the all-white suit. The same suit also garnered national attention when it first appeared during St. John’s white out game against Creighton in February. The Big East regular season title was the program’s first outright crown since the 1984-85 season and just the second outright title in program history. The Johnnies finished with a perfect 18-0 regular season home record for the first time since they went 16-0 nearly a century ago during the 1931-32 season.
- Pitino is the only coach to win a national championship at two different schools (Kentucky and Louisville) and the first coach to lead three different schools (Providence, Kentucky and Louisville) to the Final Four. With St. John’s trip to the 2025 NCAA Tournament, Pitino has now led six different schools to the Big Dance: Boston University, Providence, Kentucky, Louisville, Iona, and St. John’s.
- "We are excited to unveil this bobblehead featuring Coach Rick Pitino’s signature all-white suit,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “With Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino leading the way, the Johnnies are back among the top teams in the nation and are poised to make a deep March Madness run. This bobblehead will be a must-have for alumni, fans, students, faculty, and staff of St. John’s!”
- Previously released St. John’s bobblehead include Coach Rick Pitino and former legendary St. John’s coach Lou Carnesecca in Carnesecca’s signature sweater, St. John’s mascot Johnny Thunderbird, and retired St. John’s mascot Thunder.
- The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019.
