Long Island Nets Honor New York Liberty at Women's Impact Game

On Thursday, March 21, the Long Island Nets honored its WNBA sister team, the New York Liberty during the team’s annual Women’s Impact game at Nassau Coliseum.

The Long Island Nets players wore co-branded Liberty x LI Nets jerseys designed to resemble the Liberty’s Rebel Edition uniforms worn during the WNBA team’s historic 2023 season.

The team hosted a pregame panel for ticketholders focused on women’s empowerment and advocacy, featuring Sue Wicks, NY Liberty LegendRenee Flagler, Executive Director of Girls Inc. of Long IslandTammy Severino, President & CEO of Girl Scouts of Suffolk CountyMorgan Taylor, Vice President of Business Operations for the Long Island Nets. The panel was moderated by Brooklyn and Long Island Nets in-arena host, Ally Melendez.

Prior to tipoff, New York Liberty guard Courtney Vandersloot participated in an autograph session.

At halftime, the LI Nets honored Girls Inc. of Long Island as Community Hero of the Game. For the last three seasons, the two organizations have collaborated to expose girls to different career avenues in the sports industry.
