TRAVEL ADVISORY: Overnight Closures at the Wantagh State Parkway/Merrick Road Interchange in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of the following closures at the interchange of the Wantagh State Parkway and Merrick Road in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County, on Thursday, March 27 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting, to facilitate highway maintenance:

  • The Exit W6 ramp from northbound Wantagh State Parkway to Merrick Road.  Motorists should continue northbound to Exit W5E towards eastbound Sunrise Highway (State Route 27) to southbound Wantagh State Parkway for access to Merrick Road;
  • The eastbound right lane on Merrick Road and the ramp from eastbound Merrick Road to northbound Wantagh State Parkway. Motorists should follow the detour onto northbound Wantagh Avenue to westbound Poplar Place to access the northbound Wantagh State Parkway.
