Nassau County, NY - March 26, 2014 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano in partnership with the Hofstra University School of Health Sciences & Human Services and North Shore LIJ will host a minority Health Conference at Hofstra University during National Public Health Week on Wednesday April 9, 2014. The health conference will take place at Hofstra University in the Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center.
This event provides an opportunity to educate and build partnerships among health professionals and community stakeholders to promote diversity throughout the community they serve. The health conference will feature a panel discussion with Health Industry Professionals, free Health screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations, a mini health fair and movie screening of “Soul Food Junkies” by Award-winning filmmaker Byron Hurt. In addition to the educational and informative program and demonstrations, complimentary refreshments will be provided for all those who attend.
