MIAMI, Fla. – March 26, 2015 - Acting Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas attended a national conference held yesterday by Prosecutors Against Gun Violence, a group of law enforcement leaders from major metropolitan areas across the U.S., to discuss issues and trade expertise regarding the latest tools and tactics to fight gun-related crimes.

“This conference provided a great opportunity to draw from the diverse knowledge and experience of different prosecutors, all of us united with the same goal: eliminating the threat of gun violence from our communities,” Acting DA Singas said. “Though we have made great strides in Nassau County to make our neighborhoods safer, there are still plenty of ways to enhance our crime-fighting abilities – not only to bring the perpetrators of gun violence to justice, but to prevent gun crimes from happening in the first place.”

Joining Acting DA Singas at the conference on March 24 were New York County District Attorney Cy Vance, Jr., Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer, and Katherine Fernandez Rundle, state attorney for Miami-Dade County.

Founded last year, Prosecutors Against Gun Violence is a non-partisan group committed to advancing prosecutorial and policy solutions to the national crisis of gun violence.
