AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Officials: Woman Punches CVS Employee While Attempting to Escape Store with Stolen Merchandise

SCPD are seeking the woman who punched a store employee as she was attempting to steal merchandise.

Suffolk County, NY - March 27, 2018 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the woman who punched a store employee as she was attempting to steal merchandise from a Shirley store last year. 
 
A woman attempted to steal approximately $300 worth of merchandise from CVS, located at 964 Montauk Highway, on December 10 at approximately 1:45 p.m. When employees attempted to stop the woman, she pushed and punched the store employee. The woman, who had long red hair and was wearing a camouflage jacket and hat, fled in a waiting taxi. 
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
