Authorities Report Passing of Pedestrian in Glen Cove Vehicle Accident

Glen Cove, NY - March 29, 2019 - Homicide Squad reports the March 26 death of a pedestrian victim of a Serious Auto Accident that originally occurred on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 8:10 p.m. in Glen Cove.
 
According to detectives, while attempting to cross Brewster Ave. from the east side to the west side, Pinar Alkan of Glen Cove, 26, was struck by a 2005 Volkswagen which was traveling northbound. The female driver, 23, remained at the scene. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian suffered serious head injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition.
 
On March 26, 2019 at 6:12 a.m., the victim, Pinar Alkan, was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
 
The vehicle was brake and safety tested. No criminality is suspected.
