Verbal Dispute Turns Physical at Long Island High School, leaving 2 Teens Injured

According to the Nassau County Police, a verbal dispute between three teenage girls turned physical resulting in minor injuries to two girls. The incident occurred at Uniondale High School on Monday, March 27, at around 11 a.m.
 
The argument reportedly began while the girls were walking through the school's hallways. The 17-year-old instigator punched one of the 17-year-old victims and then drew a utility knife, lunging towards her. The victim suffered a minor cut on her ring finger while shielding herself. The 18-year-old victim sustained a minor cut to her left cheek while trying to intervene.
 
School officials managed to break up the fight until the police arrived. The knife was retrieved from the instigating girl, and Nassau medics treated the injured victims at the scene.
 
The 17-year-old was charged with four offenses, including second-degree assault, third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second-degree menacing. She was arraigned at the First District Court Youth Section in Hempstead.
