The Sixth Squad reports the arrest of a Manorhaven resident at 5:00pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in Manorhaven.
According to Detectives, at approximately 2:40pm Defendant Diana Alcivar Torres, 27, of 58a Dunwood Road was involved in a verbal argument with a male victim, 28, in the presence of their 11-month-old child.
The Defendant escalated the argument by grabbing a kitchen knife and stabbing the victim in the right leg. As the victim attempted to use his phone to call 911, the Defendant took the phone from his hand.
The victim transported himself to a local area hospital for treatment of his injury. Subsequent to the investigation, the Defendant was located at her home and placed into custody without incident. The child is in the custody of a family member.
Defendant Diana Alcivar Torres is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. She will be arraigned on Thursday, March 30, 2023 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
