Zales in Green Acres Mall Robbed by Sledge Hammer-Wielding Bandits, Cops Say

Police report that two subjects smashed a display case, made off with jewelry.

NCPD reports that two subjects, armed with a sledge hammer, robbed the Zales Jewelers located at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream on Thursday, 03/30.

Valley Stream, NY – March 31, 2017 – The Major Case Bureau reports the details of a robbery that occurred in Valley Stream on Thursday, 03/30/17 at 4:26 P.M.
 
According to Robbery Squad detectives, two subjects, armed with a small sledge hammer, entered Zales Jewelers located at 1043 Green Acres Mall. The subjects went to the display case and struck it with the sledge hammer, causing it to shatter. The subjects removed an undetermined amount of jewelry, fled the mall southbound and entered a two door convertible operated by another unknown male, who was waiting in the parking lot.   
 
There were four employees and one customer present in the store at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.
 
Both subjects are described as male blacks, 5’09”-6’01” tall, wearing hooded sweatshirts, face masks and dark boots.  No further description is available.
