Special Weather Statement issued December 21 at 10:02AM EST by NWS Upton NY Areas of 2 to 5 inches of snow have been reported across northeast New Jersey, NYC, Western Long Island, the Lower Hudson Valley, and parts of western Connecticut. Wind gusts may peak around 30-35 mph this afternoon and may persist into the early evening before weakening early tonight. Conditions during this time are expected to lead to blowing snow already on the ground. This can lead to quickly reduced visibilities on roadways. Any untreated surfaces may remain snow- covered and icy into this evening, leading to hazardous driving conditions. Leave plenty of space between you and other drivers and drive at reduced speeds.

Man Arrested for Fatally Stabbing Cousin and Injuring Cousin’s Girlfriend

Suffolk County Police arrested a Brentwood man for fatally stabbing his cousin and injuring his cousin’s girlfriend this morning.


Wilson Felipe Andrade-Molina stabbed his cousin, Luis Miguel Andrade-Cando, at their place of employment, located at 400 Oser Avenue, Suite 2050, in Hauppauge, at approximately 7:30 a.m.
 

Andrade-Molina drove to 145 Charter Oaks Ave. in Brentwood and stabbed Andrade-Cando’s girlfriend, Santa Pena, at approximately 8:05 a.m.


Police located Andrade-Molina on Gibson Street and Bay Avenue in Bay Shore at approximately 8:50 a.m. and placed him in custody.
 

Andrade-Cando, 38, of 145 Charter Oaks Avenue in Brentwood, was pronounced dead at the scene.
 

Pena, 46, of the same address, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where she was listed in critical but stable condition.
 

Homicide Squad detectives charged Andrade-Molina, 37, of 4 Fairfield Circle, Unit 11B, with Murder 2nd Degree and Assault 1st Degree. He will be held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on March 31.
