West Babylon Man Arrested for Three Armed Robberies, Police Report

West Babylon, NY - April 1, 2019 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a West Babylon man for three armed robberies that occurred in West Babylon this month.
 
Joseph Sabatino entered three businesses, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The employees of the businesses complied and Sabatino fled with cash.
 
The businesses that were robbed are Food Luck Kitchen, located at 940 Little East Neck Road, on March 10 at approximately 8 p.m., New Yen Chun Kitchen, located at 922 Straight Path, on March 20 at approximately 8:40 p.m. and One Hour Laundry, located at 1040 Little East Neck Road on March 28 at approximately 4:40 p.m.
 
Following an investigation by First Squad detectives, First Precinct C.O.P.E. officers arrested Sabatino during a traffic stop at the corner of Barnum Street and Vermont Avenue at approximately 10:20 a.m. The Firearms Suppression Team (FAST) assisted in the investigation.
 
Sabatino, 43, of West Babylon, was charged with three counts of Robbery 2nd Degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd Degree.
 
Sabatino was held overnight at the First Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 30.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
