Freeport Gem and Mineral Show Envisions “Life Back to Normal” Going Forward
Kaleidoscope Gem Shows is still celebrating the successful re-launch of their popular Gem, Mineral, Fossil, Bead, and Jewelry show at the Freeport Recreation Center last October. The event had been forced to close down for two years due to COVID-19 lockdown mandates.
Catering to rock hounds, collectors, jewelry enthusiasts, and more, The Freeport Gem and Mineral Show boasts about anything you could want of a sparkly nature; offered by some of the most well-established names in the field with decades of experience.
Event promoters Evelyn and Ralph Gose were enthusiastic that not only was the show finally able to come back after its forced hibernation, but did so with the full support of the Long Island community; breaking all previous attendance records on its opening day.
“It was so wonderful seeing everyone’s enthusiasm,” said Evelyn. “Indeed it’s a sign that life is finally getting back to normal after two whole years of depression, stress, and uncertainty.”
Going forward, the event is resuming its thrice annual schedule. The April show has been running for 46 years, the August show for 30 years, and the October show for 25 years- with the next shows are scheduled to be held August 27 & 28 and October 29 & 30. The shows are back with their full complement of vendors, including some new exciting choices.
Customers will see beautiful gold and silver jewelry ranging from Southwestern style, designs from Nepal, Indian influence, modern designs, as well as beautiful estate pieces. There will be minerals from around the world with the vendors specializing in specific areas. Fossils will be available for those who want a visual display of something that lived millions of years ago. Vendors will offer exciting varieties of beads, both for those who want to leave with a finished piece, ready to wear, and those who want to create their own unique designs at home.
The displays are breathtaking and customers can spend hours exploring the booths.
Evelyn said that she and Ralph greatly appreciate the vendors and customers making The Freeport Gem and Mineral Show’s triumphant return a great success. They look forward to its bright and exciting future.
“I really want to express how thankful we are to be back and for all the new and returning customers who joined us,” she said.
