AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Elderly woman forced into car in Walmart parking lot, taken to ATM machine, officials say.

NCPD are seeking the suspect in a Robbery that occurred on Sunday, April 2, in Westbury.

Westbury, NY – April 3, 2017 – The Third Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in Westbury.
 
According to detectives, a male black subject, armed with a large knife, approached a female victim, 85, as she was entering her vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart located at 1220 Old Country Road and demanded money. The subject forced the victim into the passenger seat, took her keys and drove out of the parking lot with the victim.  
 
The subject drove the victim to a Chase Bank in Elmont and forced the victim to give him her ATM card and PIN then withdrew an undisclosed amount of US Currency. The subject left the bank and drove to Dutch Broadway in the vicinity of Audrey Avenue, where he exited the vehicle and fled on foot westbound on Dutch Broadway to Audrey Avenue.  
 
The victim received non-life threatening injuries to her upper body.
 
The subject is described as 6’- 6’1” tall, in his 20’s, thin build wearing a dark baseball cap. Detectives request anyone with information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
