NCPD Investigating Attempted Robbery, Assault in New Cassel

New Cassel, NY - The Third Squad reports the details of an Attempted Robbery that occurred in New Cassel.
 
According to detectives, a 35 year-old male victim was walking on Carleton St. and Old Country Rd. when he was approached by an unknown male subject. The subject demanded the victim’s cell phone. When the victim refused, the subject struck the victim in the head and face area with a hard object, causing pain, swelling and lacerations. The unknown male then fled on foot north bound of Carleton St.
 
The victim was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
 
The subject is described as a male black, 6’0” tall and heavy set. He was wearing a gray shirt and black pants.
