Dastardly Duo of Scammers Rip Off $14,000 Deposit from Woman at Wantagh Bank, Cops Say

The Seventh Squad reports the details of a Larceny that occurred on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 12:20 pm in Wantagh.
 
According to Detectives, a 52-year-old female victim went to TD Bank located at 1200 Wantagh Avenue to deposit approximately $14,000 US currency into her business’s account. The victim exited her vehicle and was approached by an unknown male, described as a middle eastern man in his late 40’s (seen in picture) claiming to be a police officer. He told the woman that her vehicle had to be moved. 
 
The victim returned to her vehicle, placed her bank deposit inside her car and was again approached by another unknown male subject advising her that she dropped some money. The victim proceeded to pick up the loose money and upon returning back to her vehicle, the US Currency that she placed inside her vehicle was missing. Both unknown subjects had fled scene in an unknown direction. No description of the other male is available at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
