Officials: Pedestrian Critically Injured in Huntington Station Motor Vehicle Crash

Huntington Station, NY - Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Huntington Station.
 
A man was crossing New York Avenue, just north of West 11th Street, when he was struck by a 1999 Honda CRV traveling southbound on New York Avenue at approximately 9 p.m.
 
The victim was transported via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Medical Center with critical injuries. His identity is being withheld pending notification of kin. The driver of the Honda, Jose Rodriguez, 52, of Brooklyn, New York, was not injured.
 
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
