Gotham, located at 1745 Express Drive North in Hauppauge, is closing it's doors for business.

Gotham, a goth-inspired entertainment and event venue in Hauppauge, has unfortunately announced that they will be closing their doors for business permanently this upcoming weekend.

The sad news was communicated via an email sent out to the venue's subscribers, where it's impending closure was blamed on ongoing financial hardship, an issue that many businesses are being forced to contend with in recent years.

The email reads as follows:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Gotham Event Space and Chambers of Hell Haunted House at the location of 1745 Express Dr North, Hauppauge, NY, due to ongoing economic challenges.

We are deeply grateful for the support and loyalty of our fans, customers, clients, and everyone who has been a part of our journey over the years.

Our final event will be this Saturday, 4/12/25, with the All Abilities Dance Party.

We hope to see you there to celebrate one last time.

Additionally, we will be hosting an Estate Sale featuring furniture, catering equipment, home goods, décor, lighting fixtures, and much more! While the date is still to be determined, we’ll be creating a Facebook event under Gotham once it's confirmed and will send out an email with more details.

Thank you all for your incredible support.

Gotham, which oozed atmosphere with dim lighting and neon, was created by owner Matt Guiliano as a gothic entertainment complex and featured the popular year-round haunted attraction Chambers of Hell, which was consistently ranked among the very top spook-houses in New York State.

Gotham also featured a number of in-house events spanning a wide variety of genres, ranging from comedy acts, bands, haunted "Call of Duty" laser tag games, escape rooms, a lounge with a full bar, and stage performances, including a Edgar Allan Poe themed speakeasy.

Gotham served as a successor of sorts to Guiliano's previous business at that location: the former indoor baseball training facility, Play Like a Pro.

“I decided to get out of the baseball business and see if I could reinvent myself, and I ended up opening up the Gotham event venue in the front of the building in September of 2023,” Guiliano said in a previous interview with LongIsland.com. “Gotham is an amazing concept, and it has so much potential, and we can really do anything you can think of here.”

We here at LongIsland.com send our best wishes to Matt Guiliano and his staff at Gotham, and hope for the very best for them in their future endeavors.
