Suffolk County Executive Romaine and SCPD Commissioner Catalina to Announce Increase in Police Presence on Highways

Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine and Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina will announce during a press conference on April 9 an increase in Highway Patrol Bureau staffing to enhance roadway safety. 
 
Additionally, due to the success of the department’s Street Takeover Task Force, which began as a pilot in November, is being extended.
 
All SCPD officers will also be participating in the New York State Enforcement Campaign for Distracted Driving between April 7 and April 14, during which officers will focus extra attention on distracted driving offenses.
