Freeport Man Arrested on Plethora of Charges, Including Grand Larcney, Assault, Child Endangerment, Reckless Driving, More

The First Squad reports the arrest of a Freeport man for an incident that occurred on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 12:08 pm in Wantagh.
 
According to detectives, Seventh Precinct officers responded to Merrick Jeep Chrysler Dodge, located at 3614 Sunrise Highway for a Larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined that Jaquore Blaylock, 21, of 91 South Bay Avenue, who was an employee of the dealership, had removed an unknown amount of US currency form a co-worker’s purse that was in her desk.
 
As officers attempted to place the defendant into custody at the location he fled on foot. Officers were able to apprehend the defendant near the intersection of Oakland Avenue and Locust Avenue. While placing the defendant into custody two officers sustained injuries as the defendant was violent and combative while resisting arrest. The officers were transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
 
Subsequent to the investigation it was determined that the defendant was also responsible for the following incidents:
 
  • December 6, 2023- Wantagh. Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree.
  • December 16, 2023- Roosevelt. Reckless Driving, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law infractions.
  • December 17, 2023- Freeport. Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree.
 
Defendant Blaylock is charged with two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Petit Larceny, Resisting Arrest, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Reckless Driving, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at First district Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
