Lindenhurst, NY - April 11th, 2016 - The Suffolk County SPCA is seeking information from the public to help identify the individual(s) responsible for taping a dog's muzzle shut and abandoning it.
Roy Gross, Chief of the Suffolk County SPCA, said that on April 9th, 2016 we received a call from the Suffolk County Police Department that they were notified that a male German Shepherd was found with the muzzle taped shut with duct tape on Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst. The Babylon Animal Shelter picked up the dog.
The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible. Suffolk County SPCA Detectives are investigating this heinous act of animal cruelty.
Gross said "to leave this dog unable to eat or drink, abandoned and frightened on a busy road is heartbreaking." We urge anyone with information to contact us so that we are able to bring the individual(s) responsible for this act of animal cruelty to justice.
