The Third Squad reports the details of a Grand Larceny that occurred on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 12:45 p.m. in Mineola.
According to Detectives, a female victim arrived at the Chase Bank, 400 Old Country Road in Carle Place, to withdraw cash. After withdrawing $8,000.00 USC she proceeded to get back into her vehicle. She placed her wallet and the cash in her purse on the front passenger seat, and headed westbound on Old Country Road.
After driving a short distance, the victim heard a noise coming from her car and saw the low tire pressure light come on in the vehicle. She pulled the car over and observed that the right rear tire was flat with a large metal object sticking out from it.
At this point, an unknown, middle-aged female with blonde hair, came up to the victim with a can of “Fix a Flat” and offered it to her. As the victim began using the can she became suspicious of the woman’s behavior and realized her $8,000.00 USC was gone. The victim observed the female running away westbound on Old Country Road. The investigation is ongoing.
