Special Weather Statement issued January 6 at 10:50PM EST by NWS Upton NY Overnight into Tuesday morning, any wet spots are expected to freeze and become icy, thereby creating slippery conditions for untreated surfaces. In addition, some less traveled secondary roads may still have some residual snow. The winds increasing and becoming gusty may partially dry out residual moisture, but some icy spots will likely remain especially in locations with less wind. If encountering these conditions, proceed with extra caution. Drive extra slowly and allow for more space between vehicles.

Francis Rivera, 36, is charged with five counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, five counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree.

Second Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Bronx man for multiple Burglaries that occurred on multiple dates between January 1, 2024 through April 11, 2024 in Nassau County.
 
According to detectives, a Loss Prevention Officer observed a male in Home Depot located at 86 Jericho Turnpike, who was responsible for multiple burglaries and larcenies at various Home Depot locations. The subject stole merchandise exceeding $12,000 dollars. The employee located Francis Rivera, 36, of 430 Grand Concourse, and placed him into custody. 
 
Defendant Rivera is charged with five (5) counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, five (5) counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree.  He will be arraigned on Friday, April 12, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
