Bethpage Man Arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon

Nassau Police arrested a man for criminal possession of a weapon in Levittown.

Levittown, NY - April 10, 2015 - Second Squad detectives report the arrest of a Bethpage man for criminal possession of a weapon with occurred in Levittown on Friday, 04/10/15 at 11:38 P.M.
 
According to detectives, Second Precinct police officers responded to the Finish Line Bar located at 94 Wantagh Ave. for a suspicious male with a gun sitting at the bar.  Upon entering the premises, officers observed defendant Thomas Bertschi, 44, of Albergo Ct., sitting at the bar.  When the defendant stood up, a loaded handgun fell from his coat pocket onto the floor.  Officers recovered the weapon and placed the defendant under arrest.
 
Bertschi is being charged with Criminal Possession Weapon 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Saturday, 04/11/15 in First District Court, Hempstead.
