Man Arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child in Selden

Suffolk County Police today arrested a man after he exposed himself to a teenager while she was walking in Selden.

Selden, NY - April 13, 2015 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a man after he exposed himself to a teenager while she was walking in Selden.

Arshad Syed Humzah was operating a 2010 Nissan northbound on Boyle Road and Strauss Avenue when he approached a 15-year-old female who was walking along the roadway at approximately 5 p.m. Syed Humzah asked the girl if she needed a ride. After the girl said no, he continued to follow her in his car and then stopped again and asked her for directions. When the girl approached Syed Humzah, he exposed his genitals to her.

The girl took note of Syed Humzah’s license plate and went home and notified her parents who called the police. Syed Humzah was arrested a short time later.

Syed Humzah was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
