Updated: Breaking News - FBI Raids Mount Sinai Home

The FBI was on site at Sutton Court (also referred to as Sutton Landing) in Mount Sinai to arrest unknown persons at about 6:30am this morning, according to reports and posts on Facebook.

 

The Suffolk Police had no information about the arrest, referring to the FBI as the lead agency in the action.

 

At the time of the writing of this article the FBI has not reponded to a request for more details.

A video appeared on a Mount Sinai community Facebook page this morning recording the activity. A person on a speaker can be heard saying, “This is the FBI. For your safety. Exit immediately with your hands up.”

 

“Occupants of four Sutton Court this is the FBI. Exit immediately with your hands up.” The person repeats this again in the video, which then cuts off.

 

The poster said that two men were arrested.

 

“If anyone was awaken this morning around 6:30 am to loud bangs and announcements from the FBI that lasted for about a 1/2 hour, an apartment was raided in Sutton Landing Mt Sinai,” the post says. “2 men were apprehended.”

Sutton Court is inside a 55 and older community off Route 25A in Mount Sinai.

 

Other witnesses said the two men arrested appeared younger than 55-years-old and the arrest was possibly related to gang activity.

 

Images sent anonymously to LongIsland.com show an armored vehicle at the scene.

 

No other details are available. We will update this story once we get more information.
