Brasserie French Restaurant Opens in Massapequa

Written by Lon Cohen  |  23. April 2023

A French restaurant, Brasserie, opened in Massapequa in April, a sophisticated yet relaxed and fun dining experience. The new French Restaurant moved into the building once occupied by Bobby McCann’s Sports Bar & Grill, which closed last year.

The restaurant is run by two New York City restaurateurs who came out to Long Island during the pandemic.

Opened for brunch, they feature quiche Lorraine, make your own omelet, croissant French toast, Nutella crepes and more that come with fresh squeezed orange juice, beer, mimosa, bloody Mary or a house wine all for $27.

The dinner menu includes pan-seared rainbow trout with toasted almonds and provincial vegetable stew ($28), broiled filet of sole in a white wine lemon-butter sauce with vegetable couscous and sauteed spinach ($29), Marinated hanger steak with chimichurri and truffle mashed potato ($29), and a slow braised chicken on the bone in a red wine & mushroom sauce with egg noodles ($28), among other entrees.

On Yelp, Glen L gave them a perfect score.

“Very impressed on how well run the restaurant was considering they have only been opened for less than a week,” he said. “Service was what you would expect at a French restaurant, perfect. The food was excellent… We will be going back.”

Location: 5590 Merrick Road, Massapequa, (585) 486-2305.
