Uniondale, NY - April 18, 2017 - As part of the Uniondale School District’s mission to support students’ success and provide access to world-class opportunities, the Uniondale High School Show Choir performed during the March 31, 2017, ribbon cutting on the new Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale. While Billy Joel officially opened the venue on April 5, the Uniondale High School Show Choir was the first group to ever perform in the new space.

The team recently placed in the top 10 in the Show Choir National Competition in Tennessee, received the honor of being the “First Runner Up” during the renowned FAME Show Choir National Championship Series in New York, and received the Silver Medal during New England’s newest show choir competition, the Connecticut Classic. During these competitions, choir member Emmanuel Beauge was awarded the title of “Best Male Stage Presense” and the entire choir received “Best Band” and “Best Set Design” awards at FAME, while Derrell Saunders was awarded “Best Show Stopper” at the Connecticut Classic.
Uniondale High School’s Rhythm of the Knight show choir is now in its 5th year of competing in show choir competitions nationally.
