Police: East Meadow Man Busted with Crack Cocaine After Hicksville Auto Accident

Defendant Patrick Schlereth is charged with DWAI Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and Unlicensed Operation of a vehicle.

The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of an East Meadow man that occurred on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 2:34 pm in Hicksville.
 
According to police, officers responded to the scene of an auto accident in the vicinity of 7 Newbridge Road. Defendant Patrick Schlereth, of 2573 7th Avenue, was operating a 2022 Subaru Outback when he struck two parked cars causing his vehicle to overturn.
 
A subsequent investigation was conducted and Patrick Schlereth was placed under arrest without incident. 
 
While in police custody, Defendant Schlereth was found to be in possession of a clear glass vile, containing a burnt substance believed to be crack cocaine. 
 
He was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of his injuries and is currently in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
 
Patrick Schlereth is charged with DWAI Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, two (2) counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, and Unlicensed Operation of a vehicle.  
 
Schlereth will be arraigned on Friday, April 19, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
