NYS Senator Dean Murray Named To Nationwide List of "Emerging Leaders" by GOPAC

Written by Chris Boyle  |  21. April 2023

GOPAC has announced its 2023 Class of Emerging Leaders, and included on that list, is NYS Senator Dean Murray (R,C – East Patchogue). GOPAC is a national organization “committed to identifying the next generation of Republican leaders.”  In a class of only 28 legislators, Senator Murray, is the lone legislator chosen from the entire Northeast Region of the United States.

The prestigious GOPAC Emerging Leaders Program is a year-long initiative to educate the next generation of Republican legislators.  The program equips these legislators with information to help them legislate effectively and ultimately achieve leadership roles within their state or run for higher office. Our 2023 class of Emerging Leaders is the next installment in our mission to build a roster of State Republicans who are focused on ideas to advance Americans' personal and economic security," said GOPAC Chairman David Avella.

Senator Murray, along with his fellow Emerging Leaders, were nominated by the Republican legislative leaders in their respective states.

“I am proud to congratulate my colleague, Senator Dean Murray, on this distinguished recognition as one of GOPAC’s 2023 Emerging Leaders. As a rising star in our New York State Republican Party, Senator Murray has demonstrated a commitment to conservative values. As an experienced small business owner, and active community member, Dean understands the issues that matter to his constituents and is delivering results in the State Senate. This honor is well deserved,” said Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt

“It truly is an honor to be nominated by Leader Ortt and to be recognized by such a prestigious organization. I'm also very excited to be included in this class of such distinguished legislators from all over the country. I look forward to the opportunity to join with my fellow Republican elected officials to discuss important policies, issues and strategies that will help me personally and aid the party in its effort to move forward in the State of New York,” said NYS Senator Dean Murray, 3rd Senate District.

“In my role as a NY State Senator, I'm focused on fighting for my constituents, and all New Yorkers, by advancing common sense solutions aimed at bringing about the changes necessary to make New York a safer and more affordable place to live and raise a family. Attending GOPAC's 2023, "Class of Emerging Leaders" summit, will provide me with a great opportunity to collaborate and trade ideas with my fellow lawmakers from across the country, to help me bring about those changes,” added Senator Murray.

This year's Class of Emerging Leaders consists of a total of 28 Republican elected officials from all over the country.
