Positively Black NBC NY Features Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce
New York, NY - April 21st, 2015 - On Sunday, April 19, 2015 Positively Black NBC New York featured the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (LIAACC) on its segment featured inside Today in New York. Positively Black is a long-running part of NBC New York's diversity programming, Positively Black highlights the people, issues and events affecting the African-American community in the tri-state region and across the nation. LIAACC’s President, Phil Andrews and Brooklyn Director La’Shawn Allen Muhammad were interviewed by Positively Black host Tracie Strahan.
Positively Black program won a 2014 “New York National Association of Black Journalists” award for best programming. The interview centered on LIAACC’s economic agenda in the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, and Kings.
LIAACC’s Brooklyn Director La’Shawn Allen Muhammad highlighted some of her immediate goals to enhance the economic future of African Americans in the Brooklyn region.
