Riverhead, NY - April 21, 2017 - A 31 year old Bay Shore man pleaded guilty to a charge of second degree murder at a court conference in Riverhead, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said.

Michael Dirkschneider waived his right to an appeal and will be sentenced to prison for 20 years-to-life by State Supreme Court Justice Richard Ambro on May 23.

During a robbery behind an abandoned store in Middle Island on March 29, 2016, Dirkschneider shot 26 year-old Alexander Incorvia three times in the head.

Incorvia’s body was found five days later by a woman walking her dog.

The two men met in a methadone clinic in 2014.

During the homicide investigation, Suffolk County police recovered the murder weapon, a .45 caliber handgun, from Dirkschneider’s home in Bay Shore.
