Hit-and-Run Driver Leaves Pedestrian with Serious Injuries, Police Report

SCPD: A male pedestrian was crossing Front Street in Hempstead when he was struck by a sedan.

The Homicide Squad reports the details of an Auto Accident Involving a Pedestrian that occurred on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11:15 P.M. near the intersection of Front Street and Peninsula Boulevard in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, a male pedestrian while attempting to cross Front Street from the south to north side was struck by a grey or silver sedan traveling eastbound on Front Street. The vehicle left the scene without stopping. The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
