Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, local law enforcement and community leaders, enthusiastic volunteers, and their colleagues in local government on Thursday, April 17 to support the 20th annual “Operation – Cookie.”

During each Girl Scout cookie season, customers are given an option to buy boxes of cookies for first responders at home and soldiers overseas. Legislator Davis helped pack some of the more than 65,000 boxes of cookies will be shipped to hometown heroes and American military bases around the world through a partnership with DHL Express.

“Through their diligence and compassion, the Girl Scouts of Nassau County have created a program that sends sweet reminders of home to servicemembers abroad and tokens of heartfelt gratitude to the heroes that keep us safe on a daily basis,” Legislator Davis said. “I applaud the Girl Scouts for making ‘Operation – Cookie’ such a tremendous success for the last 20 years and was grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this year’s send-off celebration.”
