AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Valley Stream, NY - April 24th, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports an arrest for Robbery which occurred on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 9:58 A.M.  in Valley Stream.

According to detectives, Quaseem M. Talbot, 22, of 92 Ormonde Boulevard, Valley Stream approached a male victim, 66, as he was getting into his car which was parked on Ormonde Boulevard.  Talbot demanded cash and displayed a black revolver in his waistband.  The victim pushed the defendant and ran as a witness called police.  The suspect fled on foot and was located by Fourth Precinct Officers at Merrick Road and Hook Creek Boulevard where he was placed under arrest without incident.  He was in possession of a scalpel.  No gun was recovered.

Talbot is charged with Robbery 1st degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree.  He will be arraigned on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
