Merrick, NY - April 24, 2018 - Seventh Squad detectives are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:55 pm in Merrick.
 
According to detectives, a male white subject entered the BP gas station, 1577 Merrick Road, approached the stores clerk, reached into his waistband, as if he had a gun, and demanded money from the register.
 
After being startled by another employee in the building the subject, who was described as being in his early 20’s with a thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray jeans, a black ski mask, black sneakers with white markings on them, fled the scene on foot without any proceeds. He was last seen heading north on Central Blvd.
