Man Killed in Centerport Motor Vehicle Crash, According to SCPD

SCPD are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a Centerport man.

Centerport, NY - April 26, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a Centerport man on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.
 
William Hunter was driving a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta westbound on Fort Salonga Road at Stony Hollow Road when his vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree at approximately 12 p.m.
 
Hunter, 60, of Centerport, was transported by the Centerport Fire Department to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
