Marine Recruiter Charged With Third Degree Rape of Long Island Teen

U.S. Marine Recruiter has been charged with grooming and statutory rape of a Long Island Teen.

Staff Sgt. Mason H. Wallace, A 28-year-old US Marine Corps recruiter who previously provided counseling to sexual assault victims, has been charged with grooming and raping a 16-year-old Long Island girl. 

 

Wallace was a recruiter out of Patchogue, He met the victim during his first recruiting visit to Longwood High School back in October. 

 

The victim claimed that she did not initially realize that Walace was grooming her, but after reflecting on their messages, she recognized it was. 

 

Both the victim and Wallace had started speaking through Discord and had begun sending flirtatious texts in December.  

 

During this time Wallace allegedly used a home visit to play video games at the teens house while her mother was away, as well as not being aware of the recruitment visit at all. 

 

Wallace then continued to make sexual advances towards the victim, which led to unprotected statutory rape. 

 

According to the New York Post, Wallace, was charged with third degree rape and is due back in court on May 31.
